Our History

J and L Overhead Door, Inc., was founded by John Spero in 1990 in Lodi, California, which operated with only one truck and the business based from home. It was when John met his future wife Debra in 1992, that the one man business operation became their first partnership and it began to blossom. The new couple dedicated 7 days a week working from the hours of 5:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. to ensure the growth of J and L Overhead Door. The business partners became partners in life when they married in March of 1994, while enjoying the growth and prosperity of J and L Overhead Door. John and Debra remained the only company employees, but had the opportunity to move into a new location that same year.

J and L Overhead Door finally saw the day that they were able to add to their crew. Currently, they have two valued employees, Mat and Chet who have been with the company for several years.

The company, which has celebrated almost two decades in business, is still to this day family owned and operated, with their dedicated crew. December 2000, saw the newest addition to the Spero and the J and L family, Juliann Spero. She is currently in pre-management training as she goes to work with her dad John some days, where she excels in telling the crew what they need to do for the day. As for the rest of her time, Juliann is an assistant to her mother at home as she patiently waits while Debra manages the business phone calls.

With such devotion to family, business and passion for quality products and workmanship, J and L Overhead Door has proven throughout the years to be long term labor of love for the Spero family, one that will last for their future generations.
